Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality care of patients assigned by utilizing the nursing process as defined in the Missouri Nurse Practice Act.  The LPN will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.  Demonstrates understanding of the unique physical and psychological needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information necessary to provide quality care.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program. Require Missouri license and/or compact agreement State License.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Physical Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be physically, mentally and emotionally able to meet the needs of this position.  Requires the ability to perform calmly and effectively in stressful situations.
